For the Mt. Rinjani trek, it is recommended to carry the following items in a small backpack not exceeding 10 kg:
1.Quick Dry Synthetic Material:
A short or long-sleeved shirt as the base layer, a high-quality fleece jacket or woolen pullover as the middle layer, and a thick, windproof jacket as the outer layer. Waterproof and windproof trekking pants are recommended, along with woolen gloves, a beanie, and a scarf for extra protection against the cold.
2.Trekking Shoes:
Mid or high-cut shoes are preferred to low-cut ones for better ankle support and to prevent soil from entering the shoes.
3. Trekking Poles:
These are highly recommended for the summit climb due to the steep terrain and fine, loose volcanic soil that can lead to slipping.
4. Other Items:
Water bottle, torch or flashlight, toiletries, sunscreen, hat or cap, sunglasses, muscle spray or balm, insect repellent, camera, mobile phone, and power bank.
The packing list assumes that you are accompanied by a guide and that porters will carry all camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mats, and toilet tent), cooking gear, water, and food.
